Pair pass petition on to police

A petition has been handed to South Holland Police over speeding around a Spalding estate.

Tracey Mills, of Severn Road and Helen Nicholls, of Thames Road, started the petition after Tracey’s cat Tigger died after being run over.
The pair also say they are concerned for the number of elderly people who live in their area.
South Holland and the Deepings MP Sir John Hayes joined the friends as they handed over the petition to Inspector Matt Dickinson at Spalding Police Station last week.
“We didn’t do an actual count of how many signatures but Sir John and Matt were pretty impressed with the amount.
“They said it’s obviously a great concern in the area for safety of elderly, children, cats and people who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
“A few suggestions were made about what could be done which we cannot reveal the details of.”
