Nigel’s snooker tournament raises a grand sum for MNDA

A snooker tournament organised by Nigel Brasier has raised more than £1,200 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Brasier, a member of the Spalding and District Snooker League, suffers from the disease.

Held at Spalding’s Consti Club, Matty Turner emerged as the winner – but generously decided to add the £100 prize money back in the pot.

Brasier said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making a dream I had several months ago finally come true. A big thank you to everyone that entered and came along to watch or support this worthy cause.”

Brasier hopes to run the event again next year.

He would like to thank Susan Lefley (advice and help), Helen Mumby-Croft (sponsorship), Dick Morgan (use of the Consti Club and the lovely food), Sharon King from the MNDA and Tony Scully (helping set up), Jean Thompson and Joanne Brasier (selling £400 worth of raffle tickets), Daphne Oxford and her crew from MNDA (help on the day), Matty Turner (giving back prize money), all the referees (especially Peter Keal) and all who donated.
