New markets manager sets out stall

A new man has been brought in to oversee South Holland’s markets.

David Smith has officially been taken on by the South and East Councils Partnership, so will be responsible for markets in Boston Borough Council and East Lindsey District Council too.
Mr Smith has recently moved back to Lincolnshire after working in London for ten years as a sergeant for the Metropolitan Police.
He is a director of a caravan park in Burgh Le Marsh.
A spokesman for South Holland District Council said: “David has always loved markets and car boot sales.
“His goals include to use professional photographs and create Instagram and Google Business accounts for all markets to attract more residents and traders to our markets.
“Another aim is to create videos and interviews for social media detailing the trader and what it is like to visit or work at a market.
“He also aspires to increase signage, improve interaction between markets and the public, as well as bring back trips to markets for elderly people.”
