New lunch club for supermarket

A South Holland supermarket is hosting a new monthly lunch club in partnership with the Royal Voluntary Service.

The club will meet at the café in Morrisons on Wardentree Lane in Pinchbeck.

The first meeting is on Tuesday, October 28, from noon to 2pm and places can be booked in advance.

Andrea Briggs, of the RVS and Tina Ellis, Morrisons Community Champion, have joined forces to enable the activity.

And tonight (23) the RVS is running a dance session with the Boston Dancing Witches.

Under the First Time for Everything banner, the event will run from 6pm to 8pm at Project St Thomas Hall in Spalding.

The RVS is also conducting other First Time for Everything events funded by the Postcode Lottery.

Aimed at the over 55s, there are also limited places available for line dancing on Tuesday, January 13, from 6pm-8pm.

It will also be held at Project St Thomas and is an opportunity to try something new and meet new people.

The session is suitable for beginners and beyond and is free for people to attend.

The same First Time for Everything scheme will see the chance to make watercolour Christmas cards.

That workshop will take place at Tonic 44 Community Cafe, Station Road in Surfleet from 8pm to 6pm on Tuesday, December 2.

The Morrisons café is also the venue for a recently-started club for lovers of board games and the next will be on November 17.

The RVS is also looking for volunteers to help run the club which meets monthly.

Booking for the lunch club and further information about all the RVS events is available from Andrea on 07468 701994.
