New club hammers along

Gosberton Croquet Club is going from strength-to-strength as membership continues to increase.

Several other people are visiting the club for playing sessions, with the club also seeing various other groups booked in for come-and-try sessions.

Two competitions are due to be held for the club’s membership, which will be followed by an end-of-season celebration.

Club captain Tim Barzycki continues to compete on the Croquet England national circuit. He won the plate competition at Hunstanton, reached a semi-final at Northampton and won at B level at Leighton Linslade.

Having won four of his first round matches, losing only eight hoops, he went on to play the final against a representative from Blewbury Croquet Club and won convincingly 7-1.

The club is based at Gosberton Bowls and Snooker Club behind Gosberton Public Hall. It meets on Monday and Thursday mornings, 10am, and Saturday afternoons, 2pm. Newcomers are welcome to drop in on these days or email [email protected] for more details.
