New CCTV system for South Holland goes live imminently

The first of South Holland’s new CCTV cameras is close to being fully operational – with the rest of the £108,000 scheme on stream by the end of June.

A technical hiccup which delayed February’s expected start has been resolved and testing is under way, with images being received at Boston Borough Council’s CCTV control room.

District council deputy leader Nick Worth said: “Communications and images between Spalding and Boston have now finally been rectified and one of the new cameras in Spalding town centre is now beaming live images to Boston.

“The rest of the new cameras are being rolled out in Spalding starting on June 15 and will be completed by the end of June. Cameras in Holbeach and Crowland will follow on immediately after that.”

Boston Borough Council will monitor the cameras under an agreement with South Holland District Council.
