New boys both net as Knights slay Sleaford

Futre Lions Counties League

Sleaford Town 1 Pinchbeck United 4

Pinchbeck United’s Christmas striking arrivals both netted on their full debuts in a fine Future Lions Counties League Premier Division win at Sleaford Town.

The Knights crowned a fantastic festive period with a super 4-1 win, with Harry Limb and Jack Smith among the scorers.

United started well and soon found themselves 1-0 after just seven minutes.

Lee Beeson was on hand to score from the penalty spot after a foul in the area.
United remained on the front foot for the majority of the first half, but they were unable to create many clear cut chances.

At the same time their defence was holding firm as the sides went in at the break with just the penalty separating them.

It was a second half blitz that sealed the points, starting with Limb scoring on his debut.

The striker on loan from King’s Lynn picked up the ball in midfield on the counter, turned a defender, ran through and finished superbly to make it 2-0 in the 48th minute.
Sleaford responded with a chance of their own which was comfortably saved by keeper Ricky Lovelace.

Two goals in the 55th and 58th made it 4-0 and sealed the game.
Fraser Bayliss was the first to net before Smith, newly acquired from Holbeach United scored Pinchbeck’s fourth.

More drama followed as Sleaford were themselves given a 68th minute penalty but Lovelace tipped Scott Coupland’s spot kick away.

Pinchbeck didn’t deal with the resulting corner and Ben Greenwood nodded home.

Sleaford then pushed looking for more goals, but they were caught on the break in the 87th minute and a foul in the area brought the third spot kick-off the game.

After two bookings were handed out, Josh Smith was unable to double his tally though as he failed to find the target.

It made it seven points from nine for Pinchbeck over the Christmas period and they sit third in the table.
