Mystery person’s good deed rekindles little Connie’s smile

Roary
Back together – Connie Hammond with Roary and mum Gemma Louth.

Little Connie Hammond was distraught after losing her favourite cuddly toy on a trip into Spalding.

But thanks to a good deed by a mystery person, the tears turned to happiness after she was reunited with Roary – a mascot of Haven Holidays who has hardly left her grasp since getting him as a present this summer.

Mum Gemma Louth said the tiger toy was dropped somewhere between Hall Place and Bridge Street, while Connie (17 months) was out in her pushchair with dad Trevor Hammond.
A Facebook appeal came to nothing so it was assumed as gone for good until days later when Gemma was told it was in Nationwide’s window.

She said: “We’d just like to say thank you to whoever found it. You’ve made a little girl very happy!
“We were going to have to go to Haven to get another one!”
