Music producer’s house mix of Humpty Dumpty impresses Radio 1 DJ

When Zach Le Sage set his heart on becoming a music producer he could not have imagined that his breakthrough tune would have been a nursery rhyme.

But it was his EDM house music mix of Humpty Dumpty which impressed Radio 1 DJ Greg James, who played Zach’s effort on his show on Monday.

Greg had appealed for listeners to send in their own efforts after top DJ and record producer David Guetta did a mix of If You’re Happy And You Know It.

Zach (24), of Spalding, got to work and thought nothing more about it until he was listening to Monday’s show in the car.
Greg said there was an entry coming up which everyone had to hear.
Zach then realised that someone from the show had been trying to contact him to get him on air.
Unfortunately it was too late but the mix caused a stir.

Zach, a production manger for Manor Fresh in Holbeach Hurn and son of Spalding musician Mark Le Sage, said: “My phone went crazy!”
He added: “The mix was not my usual take but I was trying to imitate David Guetta.”

Zach gained a BTEC National Diploma in music technology at Boston College.
