Music festival hits the right note

Children from across the region enjoyed a music festival to end the school term.

The South Holland Primary Schools’ Music Festival took place at Ayscoughfee Hall School and was sponsored by the charity Chosen.
Along with the host school, others in attendance came from St John the Baptist, Spalding, Weston Hills, Weston St Mary, Whaplode, Holbeach’s William Stukeley primary schools and Lime Academy Abbotsmede in Peterborough.
A spokesman said: “The school choirs came together for a day of singing and music making.
“The children spent the morning singing songs based around the theme of the 2024 Paris Olympics and the children were accompanied by staff members who formed a staff band.
“After a picnic lunch in Ayscoughfee Gardens, the children enjoyed watching an ‘Olympic Show’ performed by professional musicians, Travelling By Tuba.”
