Gateway Club’s blast of brass

Spalding Brass Band blew away a club designed to promote inclusivity recently.

Members attended the Spalding Gateway Club to entertain those who use the service.
They included some players from the St Nicolas Brass Band, formed by the St Nicolas Players group for their version of Brassed Off.
Among the tunes club members enjoyed were Delilah, Show Me The Way to Amarillo and an ABBA medley.
A spokesman for the club said: “The melodious tones of the assortment of brass instruments filled the hall to wonderful effect.
“Perhaps equally as important was the time the band spent interacting with Gateway members and explaining things to them.
“This aspect was much appreciated.”
Spalding Brass Band meet on Friday evenings in Moose Hall. Contact 07845 191948 for more information.
Spalding Gateway Club and Spalding MENCAP are always looking for volunteers for the Friday sessions at Broad Street Methodist Church from 7pm to 9pm.
Its AGM has been set for the same venue at 6.30pm on November 25.
