Moulton sign off in style

Unbeaten Moulton Harrox u18 ladies capped an incredible season by winning the Quickline Lincolnshire Women’s County League Intermediate League Knockout Cup for a third season in a row.

They had to do it the hard way though, winning the final despite fielding only nine players. An amazing performance came after the team was depleted by injury and the absence of two players on a college trip abroad.

Undeterred and despite facing a Cleethorpes Town team backed up by three substitutes, Moulton dug deep to chalk up a 4-0 victory.

In the league, Moulton finished nine points clear of second-placed Woodhall Spa United, winning 11 and drawing one of their 12 matches. The only points they dropped came in a 1-1 draw with Ropsley but they more than made up for that, beating the same team 8-3 in the away return and following up with a 7-1 win in the cup.

* Spalding United Women started life with an 8-2 victory at Oxford City.
The newly formed team are next in action at Corby Town on Sunday.
