Modelling show hopes to inspire

The Fenland and Spalding Model Club holds its annual Wings and Things Show at the weekend.

The show is on Sunday from 10am to 4pm, at Spalding High School, Stonegate, Spalding.

Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs, with all proceeds this year going to the Spalding Hospice Foundation.

Model clubs from around the country will be present as well as special interest groups, including a group who specialise in the United States Air Force.

Also present will be traders, where visitors can buy models themselves, or model making equipment.

Club member Iain Braid said: “The show offers a chance for the community to see what can be achieved with model kits such as AIRFIX, and hopefully be inspired to take up the hobby themselves.

“We have a very good local model shop, Masons on New Road, so there are modellers out there locally, and new members would be excellent for the club’s continued growth.”
