Martin leads the way for Halmer Harriers at Heckington road race

Spalding-based Halmer Harriers boasted a great turnout for the Heckington ten-mile road race.

Some 16 members completed the course, with Martin Wells (1.11.31hrs) comfortably the quickest.

  • Two Halmer Harriers have been out pounding the streets in recent races.

Colin Crump made a trip north to compete in the Grimsby 10K.

He went round in an excellent time of 46.28mins finishing 434th out of the 3,000 runners.

Crump was also 11th in the male over-60s category.

The race was won by Lewis Jagger in what was initially clocked as 29.56mins, but subsequently amended to 30.09mins.

Halmer’s Ade Williams meanwhile was down in London for the Asics London 10k.

He ran a fine time of 50.16mins all while raising £250 for the Free Kicks Foundation Charity.
