Man suffering with flash burns treated by air ambulance crew

A 22-year-old man who suffered ‘multiple flash burns’ in Spalding was treated by air ambulance staff on Friday (June 26).

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was seen landing near Wygate Park in Spalding.

It’s not clear how the man suffered the burns which are injuries caused by intense light.

Air ambulance crew treated the man at the scene.

A spokesperson at the air ambulance said: “On Friday, June 26 at 9.43pm, the Linclonshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was dispatched to Spalding following reports of a 22-year-old male suffering multiple flash burns.

“Our Ambucopter arrived on scene in just 15 minutes, a journey that by land could have taken up to an hour.

“Our crew treated the patient before returning back to base at 11.25pm.”
