Man seen speeding four times avoids ban

A Spalding man has avoided a driving ban despite being caught speeding by the same camera four times inside two months.

Lee Mason, of Thornton Road, was up before Boston Magistrates’ Court on June 18 after exceeding the 30mph limit on Holbeach Road on November 29, December 24 and 26, 2023 and January 18 2024.
But despite his licence being given a total of 13 penalty points, he avoided the ban that’s usually given on accumulation of 12 points.
The court was told a ban would ’cause exceptional hardship’ due to his father and mother having ongoing health issues and reliant on him being able to drive.
Mason was fined £306, ordered to pay £110 costs and a £123 victim surcharge.
