Man in court over Facebook grooming allegations

A 47-year-old man has been sent for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on allegations that he groomed a 12-year-old girl on Facebook and incited her to engage in sexual activity.

Jason Carter of Main Road, Gedney, entered no pleas but, speaking through his solicitor, indicated to magistrates at Boston that he would be pleading ‘guilty’ to all four of the charges.

The alleged offences relate to a single girl, believed to be 12 years old at the time, and that he groomed her over the social media site Facebook between April 8 and 13 this year from his home.

The other allegations relate to inciting her to engage in sexual activity over the phone with him between the same dates.

His first appearance will be at Lincoln Crown Court on September 4 and he was allowed conditional bail, which includes a condition he does not use the internet at all.
