Man denies three Spalding burglaries

A Latvian man has denied carrying out three burglaries on the same day in Spalding.

Dmitrijs Afanasjevs (28) is alleged to have committed three burglaries within a mile of each other around Spalding on January 9, this year.

During the first burglary it is alleged Afanasjevs stole an iPad and docking station, cables, headphones, cameras, mobile phones and purse with its contents from a home in Low Road, Spalding.

Afanasjevs is accused of stealing a purse and wallet with their contents from a home in Heathfield Road, Spalding, on the same day.

It is also alleged Afanasjevs stole two televisions, a PlayStation 3 and a bag from a caravan in Pecks Drove East, Spalding.

Afanasjevs, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to all three burglary charges during a plea and case management hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.

Mark Knowles, prosecuting, told the court all three burglaries occurred within a mile of each other.

The case was adjourned for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on July 6.

The trial is expected to last three days because of the need for a Latvian interpreter.

Recorder Alan Dooley remanded Afanasjevs in to custody until his trial.
