Man (45) jailed for six weeks term for string of offences

A Gosberton Risegate man has started a prison sentence after admitting assaulting a woman.

Darren Paul Matthews, of Sheppersons Avenue, was handed a six-week term seven days after beating Megan Parr on May 24. He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation.

Appearing before Boston magistrates on May 31, Matthews (45) also pleaded guilty to:

  • taking a car on May 24 without the owner’s consent on May 24 (jailed for four weeks, to run concurrently and disqualified from driving for three months)
  • possessing class B drug amphetamine on May 25 (no separate penalty)
  • dishonestly undertaking or assisting in stolen goods (bank card belonging to Diane Dodds) between April 11 and May 11, 2017 (jailed for six weeks, to run concurrently)
  • fraud at Londis supermarket in Spalding between April 25 and April 29, 2017 (jailed to six weeks, to run concurrently)
  • breach of conditional discharge (no action taken)
