Quick work by police as man (27) in court for Spalding burglary

A man is due in court today (Monday, August 11) charged with a Spalding burglary which was reported on Saturday.

Dimitrijs Afanasjeves (27), of no fixed abode, will appear before Lincoln magistrates in connection with a burglary in Pinchbeck Road.

Meanwhile, town police are investigating a sneak-in burglary at about 5pm on Thursday.

Someone entered an insecure house in Edinburgh Drive and stole a laptop computer.

Spalding community policing inspector Jim Tyner said: “On this occasion a woman nipped out to the shops, leaving windows open and the front door unlocked.

“It only takes a burglar a few seconds.”

Police have stepped up patrols and are urging people to keep doors and ground floor windows secure.
