Spalding Gymnastics Club’s Miyah Woods was crowned county champion at the recent Floor and Vault Championship held at their Cradge Bank base.
This event also served as a qualifier for the regional final, to be held at Leicester in April.
In the ten years age group, Darcy Orford put together a marvellous floor and vault combination to win gold, while Beth McFarlane finished a notable sixth place in the 11 years group.
Daisy Cross also finished sixth in the 12 years category, before Erin Hope (13 years) did tremendously well to finish second.
It was in the 14 years and over group that Spalding gymnasts really excelled, with three in the top six.
Woods topped a great day in a very difficult competition by winning gold and also the county champion prize. Alex Osbiston (5th) and Jess Wand (6th) also did well.
Orford and Woods are now in the county team, with Osbiston reserve, in their respective age groups.
