Lots of interest in council partnership homes in Donington

A new development of quality, affordable homes earmarked for South Holland residents is nearing completion.

The Maltings, based in Maltings Lane, Donington, comprises of 51 homes, with 37 properties available for affordable rent and 14 for shared ownership.
The range of one, two and three bedroom properties has been built by Waterloo Housing working in partnership with South Holland District Council.

Much interest has already been expressed in the properties following a special open day event at the Royal British Legion in Donington last week.

Coun Christine Lawton, South Holland District Council’s portfolio holder for housing, said: “We are committed to helping provide good quality affordable homes across the district and this development certainly falls into that category.
“The homes are expected to be completed in March following a successful partnership with Waterloo Housing and I look forward to seeing the new tenants and owners move in.”

Marion Duffy, director of Neighbourhoods and Operations at Waterloo Housing, said: “We’re delighted that our open day has been so popular and that we’ve been able to bring much needed affordable housing to the area by working in partnership with South Holland District Council.
“If you weren’t able to attend the open day, it’s not too late to register your interest in these brand new homes.”

Anyone interested in renting one of the homes should get in touch with the district council’s housing team on 01775 761161 or alternatively Waterloo Housing on 0800 435016.
