There has been plenty of reason to celebrate at Holbeach Fire Station recently.
A cheque for £1,200 was presented to the National Firefighters Charity after crew members watered the town’s flower displays.
The crews volunteered and Coun Tracey Carter organised the displays. The businesses involved were charged £35 for watering and the money raised was donated.
Watch manager John Kinder also had reason to celebrate as he marks 30 years with the service.
When he joined the service there was ‘basic equipment’ and the change has been really notable.
“I am sure that Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue must be one of the top services in the country,” he said. “I am still as proud to wear the uniform today as I was then,” said Mr Kinder.
He said he had met many interesting people through the years, including the late Queen and Prince Philip.
Crowland’s crew manager Justin Cole also received a 30 year certificate and medal clasp by Chief Fire Officer Mark Baxter.
Watch Manager Stuart Annible, from Crowland, also marked his 30th anniversary but was unable to attend the ceremony.
