Little Miracles take-off

A family fun day organised by Little Miracles Charity raised more than £600.

The event, at the Fun Farm, Weston, was organised at short-notice for the charity which only opened a branch in the area a month ago.

Despite some last-minute hitches and blustery weather, which meant inflatables couldn’t be used, the event earlier this month was hailed a success by organisers.

The charity, based in Peterborough, looks after families with children who have a range of disabilities and offers support and practical help.

“We give support to children who have a range of problems, from life-limiting conditions to physical disabilities and ‘hidden’ issues,” said Liz Kilbon, of Spalding.

She became involved with the charity four years ago as her son was diagnosed with ADHD.

“You realise you aren’t alone after all,” she said.

Liz now volunteers at a Holbeach branch on Monday mornings and one in Spalding on Friday evenings.
