LETTERS – Why is no-one helping with rats?

I read the report on animals being saved twice in amazement.
Police crime team, council, RSPCA, etc on the scene and dealing with the situation, but surely a rat infestation is an environmental matter affecting human beings living in the area?
No-one, police, council or MP, is willing to find a way to help them, no report of newspaper inquiries why our elected representatives aren’t dealing.
Are we on the way backwards to Charles Dickens’ England?
