LETTERS – When did humans lose hearts?

Over the last three weeks we have happily watched birds building nests and collecting up food for their young… until today when our neighbour has called in workmen who have cut the conifers down to the ground.

Not interested in nests or fledglings, only money at the end of the day.

We asked that they delay for a few more days but no. We frantically phoned round trying to stop it but got no help.

What happened to the law about disturbing in nesting season?

What happened to people caring?

We have tolerated the hammering, banging and sawing close to the nesting site for three weeks and obviously the birds didn’t.

Today I buried the fledgling.

When did human beings lose their hearts?
