LETTERS – We’re getting bins anyway

So democracy wins again. Er, no it seems that wheelie bins will be imposed anyway!

The majority of properties in this and other areas have gravel drives (environmentally more beneficial due to less water run-off than hard drives).

Moving a wheelie bins on gravel when empty will be hard enough, let alone when full. This will be especially difficult for the elderly or those with physical impairment.

I note that “fewer HGVs” will be needed. Presumably because outside contractors will re-employ personnel at less favourable terms and conditions.

Regarding the collection of “unlimited sack-based waste”. Why not restrict collection to two or three sacks maximum?

Was the cigarette packet not large enough to accommodate such considerations?
