LETTERS – Permission for other signs?

I was interested to read that plans have been put forward for information boards concerning the stone sheep and cows situated adjacent to Spalding’s Sheep Market and alongside New Road.

They are described as “small scale and not overly noticeable”.

They are a lovely reminder of our town’s heritage and the signs will help many residents and visitors learn a little about the agricultural background to Spalding.

Spalding’s Civic Society continue to enhance the town and are correctly applying for advertising consent.

I would be interested to know whether consent is requested for the multiple advertising boards which appear near to many town road junctions on railings, fences or attached to posts in the ground and if not what action SHDC undertakes to remove them?

They are, by their nature, intended to be noticeable and distracting.
