LETTERS – No wonder no-one wants to visit

Walking into Spalding town centre on Saturday (June 3) we were struck by the shouting that could be heard before we’d even turned the corner into Hall Place!
We then saw around eight men sitting and standing by the benches, all drinking from large plastic coloured bottles.
There was no doubt that this was alcohol as they were drunk, shouting and wobbling, taking over this area. This was 9.15 in the morning!
They were still there when we were leaving at 9.45am.
We saw a police van with one officer inside. My husband put his hand up to stop him, but he just carried on driving. We cannot believe he didn’t see him.
This town centre is bad enough with hardly any stalls (Saturday I counted seven) but with this as well is it any wonder no one wishes to visit Spalding town centre.
