Yesterday (March 17) my wife’s Yorkshire Terrier was attacked during a walk along the riverbank footpath that backs onto Double Street in the centre of Spalding.
The other dog wasn’t on a lead. At one point my wife was having to hold our dog above her head to keep him safe.
She thinks it was an American Pitbull-type. This morning she has visited the police station and the local council office to report the attack.
Neither seemed interested. The lady she spoke with at the council said “it’s not the problem of the council”. There you go then.
A message to all dog walkers in Spalding; apparently nobody cares if dogs are allowed to roam free which seems strange to me given last year 16 people were killed as a result of being attacked by dogs (source The Independent newspaper).
Meanwhile I’m down £81.80 for vets bills.
