LETTERS – New rules wasting money

An open letter to South Holland District Council regarding refuse and recycling collection:
We have always used the black and green bags supplied by yourselves, recently we have now been made to change the days and the ways we have to put the refuse out.
We always use the bags you supply, we use to put them in the green SHDC box you supplied a number of years ago all ready for collection. This helped to stop the bags from being ripped.
Now you have stopped us from putting the bags in the green plastic boxes supplied by yourselves. The outcome, living in the countryside, rubbish all-over the place, the bags ripped to shreds by cats, magpies, foxes etc.
This morning was the final straw, we put the bags out as instructed by yourselves, looking out the window at first light all the rubbish from the black bags were strewn all over the place, fresh bags required, 20 mins later all collected up for the umpteen time since the new changes.
What a result! The SHDC boxes you supplied we are now no longer allowed to use! The bags you supplied are of poorer/thinner quality resulting in extra bags being used, we now have to purchase bags out of our own pockets, recollecting the rubbish from our driveway over and over again.
Thank you once again for wasting the local tax payers’ money.
