LETTERS – Men’s coffee morning is success

We have been running a gentlemen’s coffee morning since last October in The Old Copper Kettle in Crowland, thanks to an initiative taken forward by Graham Cleaver who ran TOCK.
Due to the closure of TOCK, Tracey and Graham Cleaver have set up a new business, Becket’s Traditional Tea Rooms in the Minster Precinct of Peterborough Cathedral, we have now moved our venue to Crowland Abbey.
We have the use of a room and kitchen in the Abbey and our first few meetings have been very successful with most of the group still being involved, including Graham.
I would like to thank the team at Crowland Abbey for enabling us to carry on with our Thursday morning meeting group, it’s really good for people’s well being.
We have come to a good arrangement where our donations for the room will go towards the new window fund and general running of the Abbey. The team of volunteers do a sterling job.
There is no set agenda, we are there for people in the community and good conversation covering day to day issues or going over some good times and the history of where we live.
Tea, coffee and cake is brought to the group by its members and we leave the facility as we found it.
We welcome new and current members alike, so please if you live in Crowland or nearby, come along and give us a try. You will receive a warm welcome.
That’s 11am-12.30pm every Thursday.
