LETTERS – I won’t be fetching my mail

Since when does one property with an unruly dog affect all 29 properties in the entire street?

I received a letter from Royal Mail on October 29 to say that until further notice no mail will be delivered to my address, or the entire street, due to a dog that chased and menaced a postperson recently.

Surely if the problem property has been identified then that is to be avoided but the other 28 houses still receive their mail?

We now have to go to the Spalding Sorting Office on Enterprise Way, Pinchbeck to retrieve our mail.

As our properties are in Holbeach this is an absolute joke.

Do they think that we don’t go to work, or everyone has a vehicle and can drive the 20-plus mile round trip?

Surely some common sense is required here and the dog owner in question is held to account and not everyone else?

I have contacted Royal Mail at the email address on the letter and have not been given the common courtesy of an acknowledgement of it.

I have lived down this street for 20 years and have never seen the so called dog in question and as I walk my own dog past the property, I have never experienced any problems or issues.

How and when this will be rectified I don’t know but I certainly won’t be travelling to Pinchbeck to collect my mail when the Royal Mail should be providing a service.
