LETTERS – I hope they change their mind

I wanted to firstly say how grateful I am that Marks and Spencer has stayed open through lockdown but I really hope they change their mind and do not close the Spalding shop.

As the only carer for my father, who is 89 years old and has dementia and Alzheimer’s, I rely completely on the ready meals for Dad.

I get all his groceries each week and he is happy with M&S meals (he doesn’t like change).

I work as well so I’m not able to provide the home cooked meals he used to have and live eight miles from Spalding.

I haven’t told him yet that the store is to close as he was upset last time it was due to close.

I will have to go to other M&S stores despite the journey. It would be a relief to me if Spalding M&S stays open.

I’m sure lots of other residents rely on the ready meals too.
