LETTER – Will new design go to planning?

Re your article in the Voice dated 24/9/20 about work on the north section of the S.W.R.R.

Please can Karen Cassar of LCC answer this question, or anyone else for that matter.

Your article states that highways and the transport committee designers were looking to reduce costs on this section even further.

It said detailed designs of the section are progressing and due to be completed by the end of 2020.

This includes a redesign of the bridge and embankment to reduce costs. These works are due to start in early 2021.

Will these redesigns be re-submitted to planning for approval, considering these new designs have not been presented to the people of Spalding for their opinions?

After all, if Joe public had plans passed by planning and then decided to alter those plans, they would have to be re-submitted to planning, is this not so?

I look forward to an answer to this question.
