LETTER: Well done, Sir Hayes

I’m sure I speak for many South Holland residents, when I congratulate John Hayes on getting his long overdue knighthood.

As every resident knows John has been our champion in Parliament for more than 20 years.

During this time he has worked on many local issues and has supported the council in its efforts to bring in millions of pounds of central government funding.

He has also held numerous shadow and Government positions where he has worked on behalf of the whole country, not just for South Holland.

Some of us expected his recognition to come earlier in the year, but, in time for Christmas is just as good as in time for the New Year celebrations, the main point is it’s finally arrived.
