LETTER: Well done and thanks to all involved with LCC elections count at Spalding

During the Lincolnshire County Council Electoral Division Elections I was appointed as counting agent for our Labour candidate for Spalding West, Voyteck Kowalewski.

The count took place last Thursday (May 4) at Springfields Events and Conference Centre from 10pm till the early hours of the Friday morning.

Upon arriving at the reception area I was greeted by one of the SHDC staff and signed the register of attendees. The deputy returning officer, Anna Graves, introduced us to the event and went through all the procedures.

We were given a comprehensive booklet that guided us all through the process, how the count is done, map of Lincolnshire County Council electoral divisions in South Holland, access to the count, candidates, floor plan, the team’s 1-9 Election Schedules and special sections for the results.

The whole count team had special polo shirts for the event and I was really impressed with how the event was carried out in such a professional way.
I would like to give my special thanks to Anna, assistant deputy returning officers Rhonda Booth and Rob Walker, and communications manager David Odgen. Not forgetting all the counting team – well done to all concerned.

And, finally, congratulations to all the successful candidates. May you serve your communities well over the next four years and deliver on your election address and the expectations of the electorate.
