LETTER: We really need more volunteers

St Barnabas Hospice has been administering excellent pallative care for over 30 years throughout Lincolnshire

It funds the in-patient unit at Nettleham Road, Lincoln, the many Hospice at Home nurses for people who wish to spend their final days at home and recently opened a six-bed in-patient unit in Grantham Hospital, saving family and friends a 60-mile round trip to our Lincoln unit.

The new unit is at the forefront of thinking and research which shows how the patient experience can be transformed by the design of the environment in which they are cared.

We are really proud of the new unit and the opportunities it creates for us to further improve pallative care.

Spalding has a day hospice situated in Woolram Wygate which offers patients day therapies, craft workshops and many more activities.

We have our own Hospice at Home team of nurses which support Spalding and surrounding areas.

Every penny we make at Spalding St Barnabas Hospice shop in New Road, goes to help local people.

We are desperate for more volunteers to enable our shop to be open between 10am and 3.45pm Monday to Saturday.

If you can help in any way, just giving a few hours a week could make a lot of difference to us.

Please ring the shop on 01775 713159 and ask for me.
