LETTER: Vibrations affecting my alarm

I bought my house 11 years ago and in the searches it showed a proposed diversion line around Spalding, a bridge over the line on the A151 Bourne Road and a new station at Spalding Common near to the old A16 which would have been a great asset to Spalding, alleviate the problems with Winsover Road crossing and noise and vibrations for many houses.

But in their wisdom Network Rail did not take that option.

I live next to the line but don’t have a big problem with the trains noise as such, but I do have a problem with the vibrations from the heavy goods trains.

The vibrations from the heavy trains set my house alarm off.

The vibration affects the reed switches in the door contacts.

This means I cannot fully set my house alarm which would affect my house insurance if I was broken into.

I am trying various solutions but none have been effective as yet.

Has any one got any sensible suggestions?
