LETTER: A simple ‘sorry’ would have done

Next to my letter which made clear the nature of UKIP’s Mr Foyster’s attempt to deceive your readers with an invented story based on “made up” photographs you published his “apology”.

Sadly Mr Foyster did what every child is taught not to do – apologise and then say why he didn’t need to!

A simple, straightforward “sorry” would have sufficed.

UKIP’s choice of Parliamentary candidate confirms Mr Foyster’s poor judgement.

Mr David Parsons is best known as the notorious former Labour, Conservative and Independent councillor – yes he’s been all three! – who lost his job in a major expenses scandal after he was found to be claiming money he shouldn’t have over a long period of time.

He made things worse by refusing to cooperate with the enquiry into his affairs.

Now – with no connection with our area – Mr Parsons has turned up in Lincolnshire, possibly trying to escape his miserable political past record.

Well, we don’t want sleaze here – what’s wrongdoing in Leicestershire is wrongdoing here too.
