LETTER: Please keep an eye out for stolen ornamental elephants

Sometime during the period between Christmas and New Year, two concrete elephants standing about two feet high, two feet deep and about a foot wide with a recess in their backs to hold plants, were stolen from outside our porch on Kings Road.
A vehicle was obviously used as they weighed about 60kgs each.

We have had them since 1994 and were of great sentimental value, named Emma and James after my husband’s children.
They will be sorely missed and we do not understand why anyone would want to steal a pair of old concrete animals.

So, fellow people of Spalding, if you see a pair of ancient elephants on someone’s property that weren’t there before Christmas, we would be obliged if you would let us know.
