I read with interest last week’s diatribe from James Penfold about so called ‘bib wearing narcissists’ and his indignant response to receiving an advisory letter from Lincolnshire Police notifying him that he had been observed speeding through Moulton Chapel.
As one of the ‘green bib wearing narcissists’ I would suggest that he has completely missed the point during his rant about being caught by a team of community volunteers who are simply trying to help their own community reduce the menace of speeding through their village.
Quite simply, he was speeding; he received an official letter from the police; he behaves as if he has done nothing wrong; he wants to see the evidence; he wants to appeal.
Would he rather prefer a fine and three points on his licence had his speeding had been witnesses by the police?
Most people would take the letter they receive as a warning, plainly this is something that perhaps Mr Penfold should consider rather than attacking the efforts of well meaning volunteers?
