LETTER: Money wasted on roads

I cannot disagree with Sir John Hayes’s comments regarding the roads in his constituency.
If he would like to see how bad the roads are in the forgotten county of South Holland, start by taking a ride down the B1166 Hulls Drove to Holbeach, then turn off at Saturday Bridge to Sutton St James, or just have a ride around any of the local roads then he’ll find how dangerous they really are.
I’m not asking him to fill the potholes and craters in, I’m asking him to look into the poor, shoddy work being carried out by the contractors which Lincolnshire Highways have employed which we are paying for.
Does anyone inspect the work they carry out?
For example, they fill in two potholes leave the one next to it then return a week later fill in the one they’ve left. Some of the filled-in potholes they have even returned to fill them in again, again and again the same week.
It’s a disgrace, the money being wasted on the local roads in the area.
