LETTER: Cyclists are causing a danger

I had a few minutes sitting at a red traffic light in Church Street, Spalding at about 3.35pm on Tuesday last week.
I was totally shocked and worried about the conduct of so many secondary school boys careering towards High Bridge on bikes with no regard for the safety of themselves or other road users.
The red light was ignored by so many bunches of lads, putting themselves at risk of traffic on a green light from High Street.
There was also at least three lads pulling wheelies along the narrow path between the queuing traffic in Church Street and the Olde White Horse pub.
This was right the way to the junction with Churchgate, with no way of knowing if a pedestrian was just around the corner.
It was all reckless and selfish behaviour and some of it was just plain showing off.
I’ve also regularly seen lots of groups of lads biking along Winsover Road before and after school.
They’re often riding several abreast and swerving all over the road, seemingly without a care.
If any of this conduct is possibly your son, please speak to them before they possibly bring tragedy to your family and a driver’s.
