About seven years ago I again became involved with national politics, after many years of trying hard to ignore the machinations of Westminster.
My sole purpose at the time was to help secure and win a referendum to enable us to leave the EU.
Experience of life here and within Europe convinced me this was essential for the future of our country.
Along the way I’ve been able to do some things outside the national arena to directly help the community of the town where I live, Holbeach. Much more rewarding than party politics.
Many of our residents voted for me in the recent local elections, and I thank them sincerely.
Since I did not get re-elected to the district council, this frees me to re-engage with party politics, at least outside the level of the parish council, where I remain strictly independent.
Those who know my history will not be surprised to learn that for the time being at least, I will be supporting the Brexit Party.
I am shocked and disgusted at the way Government and Parliament have ignored the result of that hard won democratic referendum and tried to reverse it. It’s a very dangerous and damaging precedent.
The political classes simply can’t be allowed to get away with this. Indeed it’s just as important as a genuine Brexit.
Please may I ask you to turn out and vote once more, in the EU elections on Thursday.
It is our only chance to escape from the thoroughly unpleasant EU but just as important, the very future of UK democracy is now threatened.
We’ve sent several messages to Westminster recently but obviously we have not shouted loud enough.
The old parties continue to go their own unsweet way and it’s far time we dumped them all and started again.
Please vote for The Brexit Party, Annunziata Rees-Mogg, from Skegness, is the lead candidate in our area, the East Midlands. Help her and her colleagues change British politics for good.
