Lee’s leaping for joy at bursary boost

Athlete Lee Addison has been awarded the Talented Student Bursary this year by the Sir John Gleed School PFA.

Lee was nominated for the award by the school’s physical education department after an extremely successful year of competition.

He recently competed in the National Schools long jump championships where he gained an excellent third place finish.

Lee’s commitment and determination to succeed alongside his talent made him an outstanding choice for the award this year.

Students are nominated by the teaching staff who present their case for the award to principal Will Scott.

The PFA will continue to award the bursary when they become the Friends of Spalding Academy from September in some exciting changes at the Spalding school.

The group is actively working over the summer holiday to progress its Woodland Peace Garden project and will continue to support the students by organising other fundraising events.

Members are looking forward to welcoming the new students and their families to the school at their open meeting on Wednesday, September 14.
