Late goals see Knights hit for five

A flurry of late goals saw Pinchbeck United lose 5-1 at in-form Sherwood Colliery in the Uhlsport United Counties League on Saturday.
Despite the scoreline, the Knights were in the game for long periods although falling behind early through Charlie Taylor’s sixth minute goal.
Lewis Thorogood’s side created and got back on level terms five minutes before the break after being given a penalty. Han Stevens had his spot kick saved but Andrew Williams netted the rebound.
The game was an even affair at the start of the second half but with 20 minutes remaining Sherwood were awarded a hotly contested penalty scored by Ewan Robson.
It was 3-1 just four minutes later with an effort from the edge of the area by James Matthews.
Keenan Leeds scored a fourth in the last minute and Jobe Shaw the fifth in injury time as Sherwood made it five wins in a row.
Pinchbeck were due to play Quorn at the Sir Halley Stewart on Wednesday night in the first of three home games in a row.
They host Boston Town this Saturday and Eastwood the following Tuesday.
