Last-gasp goal denies Pinchbeck United a Boxing Day point at Shepshed

An injury-time goal from Matt Melbourne sentenced Pinchbeck United to a 2-1 defeat at Shepshed Dynamo on Boxing Day.

After a goalless first half of the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division clash, Reece Morris put hosts Shepshed ahead in the early stages of the second period.

However, a spectacular long-range strike from Olly Jepson 20 minutes from time looked to have earned Lewis Thorogood’s Knights a decent draw.

That was, until Melbourne struck four minutes into added time to sentence Pinchbeck to a tenth defeat from 12 league games so far this season.

The fixture was the only match involving South Holland sides to take place.

Elsewhere in the UCL’s top tier, Rugby Town won 2-1 at Northampton ON Chenecks.
