Last call to run 60th anniversary image ideas up flagpole

Time is running out for young artists to create a legacy at Springfields Festival Gardens.

Local students have just two weeks remaining to enter the free flag design competition celebrating the charity who own and maintain the gardens, Springfields Horticultural Society, 60th anniversary.

The competition closes at 5pm on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The winning design will be planted as a spectacular living flower display and manufactured as an official flag to fly at the gardens throughout 2026.

“If you’ve been thinking about entering, now is the time to finish your design and get it submitted,” says Becky

Kirtland, education and outreach co-ordinator. “Imagine seeing your artwork planted in flowers and flying over our beautiful gardens!”

Open to all students aged 4-18 in Spalding schools and homeschooled students, the winner will be announced at the Annual Daffodil Show on April 11, 2026.

All competition details, design briefs, and entry forms can be found on the website www.springfieldsfestivalgardens.org.uk
