Lake Ross’ leaps of faith for Dave

Regulars at a West Pinchbeck caravan park and fishery are set to leap out of a plane for charity.

Regulars at the Lake Ross site off Bourne Road are among those taking the skydive for Dave Samuels.
He has been fighting Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for nearly 30 years and when talk in the Lake Ross bar of a skydive came up, it was decided to do it to raise funds for the MS Trust which funds research into the degenerative condition.
After a previous cancellation due to the weather, the skydive is now due to take place this Saturday, July 27 from Sibson Airfield near Peterborough.
It will all be based around a country and western day of fun at Lake Ross.
Dave himself is unable to take part, but there’s currently 18 signed up to make the jump including his wife Danielle and friends from Market Deeping and Nottingham.
“It would petrify me,” Dave said. “Danielle is very excited but also very nervous and says she will be screaming all the way down.
“A few of them are good with heights, but most of them are petrified but prepared to do it for a good cause.
“I feel very humble and proud to have a great group of friends around me who support me in every way, even in every day life and also raise money for the charity.”
The group has already raised £2,106 on the day when the skydive had to be cancelled due to the weather in May.
Each has their own Go Fund Me or sponsorship form.
Dave says the best way to support is by heading to Lake Ross on July 27 for the party.
It’s taking a country and music theme with live entertainment being headlined by singer Melissa Amer from 8pm that night. Entry is £5.
“They are a great group at Lake Ross and wanted to put something on for the people who are jumping during the day to enjoy the evening as well.
“Everyone is welcome.”
